Artist's Description
This quiet footbridge at Abilene State Park winds gently across a trickling creek, inviting hikers to slow down and take in the peaceful rhythm of the land. Framed by leafless winter trees and golden underbrush, the scene captures a season of stillness and reflection.
Abilene State Park is tucked away in the rolling hills of West Texas and is full of surprises — from shady trails and oak woodlands to a historic swimming pool built in the 1930s. It’s a great place for families to camp, birdwatch, or just get lost in the quiet. For me, this bridge is a reminder that even the smallest parts of a trail can offer the biggest moments of peace.
About Brigitte Blanchette Thompson

Discover the Beauty of Texas and Beyond. My name is Bigitte Blanchette Thompson, a freelance photographer based in Austin, Texas, specializing in landscape, nature, and outdoor photography. My passion for photography was shaped by years of hiking and exploring over 21 Texas state parks with my daughter and 85-year-old mother. These shared adventures through the Texas Hill Country have taught me to slow down, see deeper, and capture the moments that connect us to nature and each other. While much of my work features the beauty of Texas, I also photograph landscapes, cityscapes, and cultural scenes from across the U.S. and abroad. My portfolio includes photography from Germany, Mexico, Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico,...
