Description
Twisted branches of scorched trees stretch eerily against the sky, remnants of the devastating Bastrop wildfires. Yet from this once-barren landscape, nature reclaims its space—wildflowers bloom defiantly beneath the shadows of the past, and young pine trees rise with hope toward the light.
Captured in Bastrop State Park, this photograph is a powerful portrait of recovery. The contrast between the blackened stumps and the bright yellow flowers tells a story of resilience. Every fallen log and delicate petal is part of a greater cycle—reminding us that healing may be slow, but it is possible.
My family and I are on a journey to explore as many Texas state parks as we can. Each visit becomes a chapter in our shared story, and Bastrop left us deeply moved by the quiet strength of nature’s comeback.
