This photo captures a vibrant orange marigold adorned with raindrops, its delicate petals glistening against the lush green foliage in the background. I was inspired to take this photograph by my love for nature and the beauty found in fleeting, quiet moments outdoors. Marigolds have always drawn my attention with their bold colors and intricate textures, and the addition of fresh raindrops felt like the perfect opportunity to highlight their resilience and grace.
I used my Canon EOS 80D for this shot, l24-70mm lens. To achieve the soft bokeh in the background and make the marigold the focal point, I set a wide aperture, around f/4.0. The lighting was all-natural, and I chose a moment with soft, diffused light—probably during an overcast morning or late in the day—to bring out the rich, saturated colors while avoiding harsh shadows. I kept the ISO low to preserve detail and adjusted the shutter speed to account for any slight movement caused by the breeze or my hands.
This image feels like a celebration of the small wonders of nature, reminding me how beautiful the world can be when we pause to notice its details. It’s these moments that inspire me to keep capturing the extraordinary in the everyday.
