Artist's Description
Memory of the Trees was photographed along the North Bosque River near Waco, Texas, capturing the haunting aftermath of nature’s silent undoing. In this black and white landscape, a once-thriving forest now stands in skeletal ruin—trees stripped bare, limbs shattered and scattered across the tangled floor, underbrush choked in stillness.
Whether shaped by flood, drought, or time itself, the scene evokes themes of impermanence, environmental change, and quiet resilience. A narrow path winds through the wreckage, drawing the eye—and the soul—through loss and memory. The absence of color intensifies the emotion, revealing a raw, unfiltered look at nature’s more somber side.
This fine art piece is ideal for collectors drawn to environmental photography, black-and-white nature art, or evocative Texas regional landscapes. It works beautifully in minimalist, modern, or contemplative interior spaces.

About Brigitte Blanchette Thompson

Discover the Beauty of Texas and Beyond. My name is Bigitte Blanchette Thompson, a freelance photographer based in Austin, Texas, specializing in landscape, nature, and outdoor photography. My passion for photography was shaped by years of hiking and exploring over 21 Texas state parks with my daughter and 85-year-old mother. These shared adventures through the Texas Hill Country have taught me to slow down, see deeper, and capture the moments that connect us to nature and each other. While much of my work features the beauty of Texas, I also photograph landscapes, cityscapes, and cultural scenes from across the U.S. and abroad. My portfolio includes photography from Germany, Mexico, Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico,...
