My story behind this photo: It was taken during a camping trip with my daughter and my 85-year-old mother. We hiked the East-West Trail, which took us nearly seven hours to complete. Along the way, we shared a quiet lunch by this very spring-fed pond, surrounded by the rugged yet serene landscape of the Texas Hill Country. The trail led us past bubbling natural springs, towering majestic oak trees, and mysterious limestone caves as we navigated a steep, rocky canyon that tested our stamina—but my mother pushed through with determination and grit.
This photo is not just a landscape; it's a testament to three generations of adventure, endurance, and connection with nature. So far, our trio has explored over 21 Texas State Parks together, and each place tells a piece of our story.
