My mother has always been a force of nature. No matter where we go, she leads the way with a spring in her step and a smile on her face. This photo captures her crossing a rocky riverbed at Pedernales Falls State Park, already halfway up the trail, while I am still catching my breath.
Pedernales Falls State Park, located along the Pedernales River in the Texas Hill Country, is known for its rugged limestone slabs, winding trails, and crystal clear pools that carve their way through the landscape. The terrain demands a strong footing and a spirit of adventure — both of which my mother has in abundance.
Her energy and determination inspire me every day, and hiking with her has taught me that adventure has no age limit. She does not slow down for anything, and I would not have it any other way.
