Standing at an overlook in Pedernales Falls State Park, my mother takes in the breathtaking view of the cascading limestone rocks and the winding Pedernales River below. Over the past decade, we have shared countless memories, hiking more than sixteen Texas state park trails side by side.

Pedernales Falls State Park, located deep in the Texas Hill Country, is known for its wide stretches of ancient limestone carved by the river’s steady flow and its rugged, open landscapes that invite adventure and quiet reflection. It is a place where nature’s strength and beauty come together, and where every visit feels like coming home.

This image captures not just a moment, but a lifetime of perseverance, love for nature, and our shared tradition of exploring the outdoors. Her purple jacket and sturdy backpack are a symbol of her adventurous spirit, a reminder that the call of the trails knows no age.
Pedernales Falls remains one of our favorite stops — a place where our family’s story continues to unfold.
