Description
This photo captures a moment that is part of a cherished family tradition — hiking Enchanted Rock State Natural Area together every five years since my mother turned 70. In this photo, we are celebrating her 80th birthday, with four generations making the climb side by side. My mother, nephew, son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren all gathered to honor her adventurous spirit, each step on the granite dome a symbol of strength, resilience, and love.
Enchanted Rock, located in the Texas Hill Country near Fredericksburg, offers sweeping views, rugged trails, and the timeless beauty of its ancient pink granite. For our family, it has become much more than a scenic destination — it represents perseverance, togetherness, and the lasting bonds we forge through shared experiences in nature. Watching my grandchildren climb beside their great-grandmother was a powerful reminder that adventure knows no age limit, and that the best traditions are the ones rooted in love and laughter.
