At Pedernales Falls State Park, my mother stands at the overlook, pointing toward the horizon as the sunset casts a soft glow across the valley. Located along the Pedernales River west of Austin, Pedernales Falls State Park is known for its breathtaking limestone slabs, cascading waterfalls, and wide open Hill Country views. It is a place where time slows down and nature feels endless. Watching my mother admire the vast landscape reminds me that the spirit of exploration is timeless — and that every trail we walk together leaves a lasting imprint on my heart.
